Fort Bowie Cemetery

Ft. Bowie, Arizona

Called the Post Cemetery, it predates the establishment of Fort Bowie as a fort.
Interred here were military, their dependents, civilian employees, mail carrier, and
some Apache children. After the closure of the Fort, the remains of all soldiers,
dependents and unknowns were moved for reinternment at the
San Francisco National Cemetery. All that remain at Fort Bowie are civilians.
