Alfred T. Chamblee
CONWAY, Ark. - Alfred T. Chamblee, 75, of Tahlequah, formerly of Conway, Ark. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.
Alfred was born in Higginson, Ark. on Oct. 19, 1933.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Thomas and Hattie Belle Chamblee, and one sister, Laverne Wheeler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Daves Chamblee; two daughters, Sandra Chamblee Hudgens and husband, Russell, of Tahlequah, and Karen Chamblee West, of Vilonia, Ark.; five grandchildren: Amanda West, of Vilonia, Ark., Kevin West and wife, Kari, of Conway, Ark., Jeff Hudgens, Grant Hudgens and Mallory Hudgens, of Tahlequah; one great-grandson, Samuel West, of Vilonia; two brothers, Ernest Chamblee and wife, Clara, and David Chamblee and wife, Joyce; and one twin sister, Geraldine Pennington, all of Benton, Ark.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for Nabholz Construction and drove a truck for Shreve Transit.
Services will be on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Earnest Chamblee will officiate. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kevin West, Jeff Hudgens, Grant Hudgens, Russell Hudgens, Carl Sullivan and Philip Isom. Honorary pallbearer will be Samuel West. Visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
