Little Lutheran Cemetery
Boone County, Indiana

Located about 2 1/2 miles South of SR 32, between US 421 (South Michigan Road) on the East and I-65 on the West. It sits on the Northwest side of County Road 900 East about 2 or 3 miles East of Whitestown, Indiana, just a few miles north of Indianapolis.

As you drive into the cemetery, you enter from the East. The driveway is a long loop that goes West then loops back. The cemetery is sloped near the road to the East and South and flat and on higher ground to the North and West. The older stones are generally on the top of the hill under the trees (Section 2) and then down towards the road on the South. Many of these older stones are limestone and very eroded and covered with a mossy coating. Many are illegible and have fallen over. Some of the smaller stones have been pulled from their foundations. This group was very difficult to map.

The stones nearer the road on the East are mostly granite and very clear. Photographing and mapping was pretty straightforward. For this part, I just went back and forth across the rows. This is still an active cemetery.

Caretaker: David Milender (317) 769-5078.
