 Maine Cemeteries Project

The Pine Tree State

Hi, I am Kim Hendrix and would like to welcome you to the Maine Cemeteries Project. If you would like to volunteer to photograph and transcribe a cemetery or cemeteries in your area, please email me.

Volunteer Photographers Needed!!!

Let's help those who cannot make the trip to these cemeteries and get these headstone photos online on our site to share with everyone! Volunteers are Greatly Needed and Greatly Appreciated!!!

If you have cemetery data, (please don't send us information copied from published books or transcriptions from other cemetery sites, unles you submitted them) grave stone photographs or obituaries, we are always accepting contributions.
Our goal is to get every headstone in every cemetery in every state online on our site to help preserve these headstones for present and future generations/researchers as well as to:
- help others in their research
- help those who can not or are unable to visit these cemeteries themselves.

With so many cemeteries getting and being obsolete and/or endangered, and with so many headstones being weathered, broken, stolen, vandalized, etc. etc. we would like to preserve these as well as the newer cemeteries and headstones for the present and future genealogists and family members and to honor the memories of our and your loved ones. Please help us in our endeavor by volunteering to transcribe and photograph headstones in a cemetery near you. Headstone photos you already have are also more than welcomed!!!

To report broken links or to contact me, please email me.

The copyrights of any cemetery transcription and/or photos belong to the submitter and will remain their copyright even though they are posted on our sites. Please respect our hard working volunteer photographers, trancsribers, county & state coordinators and do not take from this site without express written permission from the submitter and the county coordinator!

WE DO NOT DO RESEARCH, NOR DO WE BUY OR SELL CEMETERY PLOTS. We hope you understand that we only have access to the materials that are submitted to the website, so please don't ask us to do research for you. However, we usually don't mind giving pointers as to where you might look next. Many, many hours of counltess endless are involved in creating the pages for these websites and we all have our own research that we like to do in addition to jobs and families. We do try hard to get your information on line as quickly as we can.

The United States Cemetery Project is a fully non-profit genealogical web site. We are dedicated to providing free access to cemetery photos and obituaries for genealogical purposes. The United States Cemetery Project is staffed entirely by volunteers and we pay no wages or salaries. Every penny that you donate will be used to provide for the continuation of this web site.

The United States Cemetery Project is advertisement free and is entirely supported by contributions. Without the support of the general public, (visitors such as you), we would not be able to continue providing free online access.

Donations may be made through PayPal. If you would prefer to mail a donation, please send an email to me for mailing instructions.

Thank you for your support

Due to high volume of emails regarding linking up to already transcribed and/or photographed cemetery websites, we will no longer be accepting links to different websites.
HOWEVER, IF you would like to share by submitting the information and/or photographs to us,
we will be more than happy to add them to our website.
OR IF you would like to Volunteer to transcribe and take photographs of a cemetery near you please let us know! Thankyou!

Thankyou To All Of Our Volunteer Photographers, Transcribers and other Submitters who take the time out of their days and nights for the hard work and countless endless hours of photographing and transcribing these cemeteries for us.

Thankyou to all of our County Coordinators for spending countless endless hours of your days and nights getting these photographs and transcriptions, obits and bios online for present and future researchers.

Please have respect for those who work on this site and those who submit to this site their countless endless hours hard work and do not take from this site without express written permission from the submitter and state coordinator! Thankyou!
