William ‘Bill’ Stroheker
Mr. William “Bill” Stroheker of 457 Canterbury Drive, Halifax, Virginia died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri January 2, 1925 and was 84 years of age. He was the son of the late Frank Sewall Stroheker and Martha Laurafred Davis Stroheker and was married to Ruth Jeannette Strong Stroheker, who survives.
Mr. Stroheker was a member of Halifax United Methodist Church and a WWII and Korean Conflict Army Air Corp Veteran. He was a member of Westinghouse Old Friends Club and a dedicated, devoted family man.
Survivors of Mr. Stroheker include his wife of the home; one daughter, Connie Darlene Stroheker Gianniny and husband Jim of Lexington, Va.; one son, Robert Leighton Stroheker and wife Betsy of Salida, Colo.; five grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Gianniny Joyner and husband Jamie of Lexington, Va., Matthew Scott Gianniny and wife, Amy of Natural Bridge, Va., Rachel Suzanne Gianniny Manetti and husband Greg of Arlington, Va., Lena Gale Stroheker of Salida, Colo. and Helen Davis Stroheker of Salida, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Thomas James Joyner and Caroline Anne Joyner, both of Lexington, Va., William “Will” Scott Gianniny and Catherine “Cate” Scott Gianniny, both of Natural Bridge, Va.
One grandson, Nathan Gale Stroheker, also preceded Mr. Stroheker in death. A memorial service will be held January 31, 2009 at the Halifax United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Williams officiating. (Time to be announced)
